Pre-design questions

MGDesignsMGDesigns AdminVPS - Virtual Prince of the Server
I've posted a few polls over at WWWC but would like to ask those questions in here too ;)

What is your screen resolution?
Do you take other screen resolution sizes into account when designing?
What is your primary browser?
Do you test in other browsers for visitor usability?
Is your site designed with or without Tables?
Do you use CSS?
What graphics program do you use for designing your layout?

I'll post my answers after a few responses :D

1024x768 is the maximum my screen supports (kinda sucks, what with my screen being 27" and all, but it is a TV, not a monitor)

Yes, I prefer designs which don't take up the whole width of the screen, which makes building sites for lower resolutions much easier, and they should scale up fairly well too as I usually use percentile measurements.

Mozilla Firefox 2 after upgrading from 1.5.x.
I've been using Firefox since it was known as Phoenix \ Firebird and before that, I used Mozilla Suite.
In an effort to keep myself from looking bad, I also have Opera 9, Internet Explorer 6 (under Linux :D), Epiphany, Konquerer, Galeon and Mozilla Suite \ Seamonkey.

    Do I test for usability?
To some extent, yes I do.
I use access keys and test with multiple browsers as well as taking note of other 501 standards.

Tables should be used for tabular data.
"Teh 1337 stie OMG!!!1" isn't tabular data, so it doesn't go into as table.
I very rarely use tables at all these days.

Yes, I use CSS instead of depreciated and ugly tags like <font>.

Anything that isn't awful to use and which supports vector graphics.
Under Windows, I'd been using Fireworks MX, which is very nice, but now I'm using Xara Xtreme under Linux, which means I got it for nothing.
I've also used Inkscape and GIMP, but GIMP isn't overly user friendly and Inkscape lacks the power of a non-SVG oriented application like Xara Xtreme (both look almost identical, so it wasn't hard to move over from Inkscape, but Xara wins out as Xara has been in the vector graphics market for ages and usually has features before Adobe and chums, it's just that photo editing tools like Photoshop are more widely used because as well as doing design work, they can... Uh... Edit photo's).
PHP, CSS, XHTML, Delphi, Ruby on Rails & more.
    Current project: CMS Object.
Most recent change: Theme support is up and running... So long as I use my theme resource loaders instead of that in the Rails plug-in.
    Release date: NEVER!!!

I should really get firefox and make sure my site looks ok in that too, although if it didn't i'm sure moddy would tell me lol.

You should try Firefox 2 anyway.
It does what Internet Explorer 7 does and some things it doesn't.
The tests which say IE7 is better were against Firefox 1.5 and early beta's of Firefox 2.
FX2 has phishing prevention, spell checking, a better looking interface (IE7 is just Firefox or Opera done wrong), spell checking, pop-up blocking, a more standards compliant rendering engine, no "phone home" garbage and it won't suddenly become a dead project for years because some big company thinks their piece of trash is good enough.
The only reason why IE is faster is that it's loaded when Windows boots as Windows dies without it.
The boot speed is only actually there on Windows systems, so this isn't something I think about (I don't use Windows).
IE6 was enough to make sure i never use Internet Explorer ever again.
If something bad happens to Firefox, I'll use Opera or Konquerer.
