What is the difference between web hosting and cloud hosting?

What is the difference between web hosting and cloud hosting and should there really be a distinction? 🤔

Isn't the setup of some VPS providers essentially create a cloud network?

There is basically no Difference between Web Hosting and Cloud Hosting as Cloud is an Infrastructure that can be Remotely controlled. Though, Some providers name their hosting Cloud Hosting which tends to provide the Shared Hosting with 4 Servers via creating a Primary DNS Server and 3 Servers with rsync or Sync Enabled on that whatever updates on One server gets on all 4. This practice is good for Geolocation Website Speed though I recommend using CDN which takes much less pricing and ideal for low server load time. Though, Cloud Hosting is considered an Effective method for Load Balancing as well.
