When will the next Google "PR" update occur?

Most people know that there was an odd "backlink" update in Google about a week ago, but most webmasters reported absolutely no PR changes.

My question to all of you is:
When will the "PR" update occur?

I think that it will either happen within the next 3 days, or it will not occur for another 3 weeks or so.

Hi,

Based on my observation, it last happened in the last week of June. So I am inclined to agree with your suggestion that it should happen in the next 3 days... hmmm... make that in the next 3 to 5 days. Hopefully all those that have put in effort will be happy this time around.

it happens every 4-6 weeks depending on your PR (higher PRs get checked more often) so id agree the next 3 days..ish and it should be updated

Well, my site is still a 0 PR at this moment...

Hopefully it'll move to a 2 or 3 soon - I guess it's just wishful thinking...

yes well i also hope but i know it probably wont happen that dev dreams goes to s ix. i havent got enough links from pr 6+ sites to get it up

I have a web designing site and I was wondering how to get a high pr...People say that you have to get "relavant" link i.e. similar to your industry, but if say I got a link from google.com :shock: then would my site not be better off ? Becuase theres is search engine related not web design....But then again how would google bot know...

Google bot has a very advanced algorithm that it uses to rank sites. It will most likely know your website's category.

Of course if you have only links from skateboarding websites on your webmaster-related website, it could have a little trouble.

And your PR will increase if you have a link from Google. Just because it's not necissarily related doesn't mean that it won't give you a higher PR. It's just better to get links from websites in the same category as you.

I am an SEO and often find, that a well designed site performs MUCH better in therms of conversions than a badly designed one. So, Dan is starting out... That's no bad thing - I'm sure you were all in his shoes at one point (I could drop a few names for people who I KNOW were in his shoes back in April)...

Heck, I didn't have a clue 2 years ago...
