Good idea, now you can compact. What OE is doing is compacting the dbx files that have got to be large files. Its also best to delete these files every so often, because they still effect the speed that OE loads, and even deleting or cleaning email …
I had the same problem, there is a registry tweak one can do however it is best to let it compact, and the next time it asks will be approximately in a 6 month interval.
I thought I would test in different resolutions for a feedback :)
I changed resolution to 800 x 600 and I have a scrollbar at the bottom and only half the page showing.
On the resolution of 1024 x 768 it is very large
