Line breaks

Ok, im building a script which submits text from a text box(via form) into a mysql database. The problem is that if there is a new line in the text box the database does not pick up on this and just crams it all together....

How can I keep the line breaks so that it will display when the data is printed back out???

I may be wrong, but I don't think this is possible if you want to keep your database table field as a text field.
