alright so ive made masks a plenty but now im making one as part of a preloader. Now i made the mask to show like this Text look like its shiny and it works great when i play it alone and everything, but if i put the mask (the movie clip) onto the stage and i test it it shows up like if i didnt add a mask, it shows the animation of the "shiny" thing but doesnt mask at all, i even made the actual mask effect on the main stage to see if it was that and it plays the same wtf! i press shift+enter to test it out in the editing windows and it plays normal so wats going on? Im using Flash MX Pro 2k4.
