Please Critique

This is one of my first serious attempts at making a layout.
It's going to be used for a music site similar to http://purevolume.com (but for a smaller niche)

Well I just wanted to know what you guys think. What I should change? Whats good?bad?etc.

My biggest problem with it is the text for "Most Played, "News", and "Featured Bands".

I'm looking forward to hear what you guys think:)

Nice. Good ideas there, just need to be more developed.
Try making the actual content bits widerm and make the Banner could be inside a similar 3D greay area...
Also, the background on Most Played and News is a bit light.

1. i'm assuming that that's a temporary banner
2. you need to make the layout wider
3. you definitely need to make the fonts smaller - much smaller - also, i don't think arial suits the site
4. lose the blue horizontal bar

I agree the fonts are terrible...they are just temporary.

And whats wrong with my banner? Just kidding..it is in fact a temporary space holder
