Default Forum Skin

Hey,

I need to know what type of skin/layout the default skin should be for a forum script.


For example phpBB has made the subsilver theme.. etc

So what type of design/colour scheme should it have... Please could you help out by answering the following questions and adding any suggestions or comments you may have.

1. Should it be dark or light?
2. What sort of colour scheme?
3. Make use of graphics only where needed
4. Be very graphic intense
5. Use css stylesheets for text formatting etc.
6. Use dropdown menu's

Thats it for now... After the first release I will write up some documentation which will show you exactly how to create and design your own templates.

Also if you have any other special requests for the default style let me know.

3. Make use of graphics only where needed, good to be a bit plain but liek at the top of content boxes liek phpbb and vb

I think if you went full CSS then you could supply for a demand that no other forum softwares(that I know of) supply for...

I have highly considered offering complete css template and with the templating system which it will use this will be possible.

If any of you would like to submit a template design please do so... It needs to be a single page of what the forum index would look like.

The code needs to be as clean as possible.

Although your template will probably not be used as the default it will almost deffinately be offered as an extra. Feel free to put in a link in the footer...

How exaclty do we do that?

Do we need to add any code relating to the forum at all?

Nope...

Just use the type of layout of a phpbb forum... just make your own design and graphics etc...

Dont worry about any of the code because I have to split the page up into various template files and its gotta be done so it suits my template engine.

They can be pure css if they want but dont have to be.
