Which out of those four (or other) instant messengers do you prefer?

None. IRC rules.
But Out of the above, I have one app that will probably do all. I use it for AIM and MSN.

Adium-X. I believe the most common PC thing is GAIM. Very cool things...

or Trillian is another multi-IM(I think I made that up) program.

I usually use AIM for personal use and MSN for web "business".
