Ever seen those movies which have got stick people doing martial arts fighting and stuff....

How are these sort of things made?

Yes I know flash - Notice that I posted it in the flash section. What I mean is are they just put in frame by frame which would take forever or do they use other things like for example to make the arms stay anchored to the torso and just move...

i think xiao xiao is frame by frame.

but that would take ages to just create a short clip...

But i think what it is is you make the different moves i.e walking punching and running, then put it together and make them move around

Yeah...not sure about Xiao Xiao. But yeah, you create symbols in "the library. Where, you have about 4 frames of an animation of someone walking...you then can import that animation into your movie and use a motion tween. The walking animation loops, while the motion tween makes it move.
