.htaccess redirects

I'm trying to redirect my visitors from the index file to /SD-v2/index.php but its not working ..I'm guessing it could be the hyphon (-).
Heres what i'm using

redirect index.html http://www.strangedarkness.com/SD-v2/index.php

Whenever I go to strangedarkness.com I still end p @ index.html

..help!

cheers bentong! Sorry to wate your time though but i sorted it. I was too lazy to just move my files into the main dir .. done it now though. Thanks anyway. Really do appreciate it!
