I've used ASP and have become quite profecient in it, if anybody needs help with it I'm here. It's quite an easy and fun scipting language to learn.

If you can find it I believe it's more expensive--if only because ASP servers are less common.

The fact the ASP support is more expensive is not due to the fact the it's less common - it's because ASP runs on IIS that runs on Windows that costs money.

Apache, Linux, PHP is open source and free.

Well, so far all my customers (and I mean real big customers - banks, etc.) only use IIS/ASP and WebSphere/JScript. I've never come across a commercial customer that uses PHP.

I guess you could argue that this does not prove 'powerful'ness but it still says a lot.

ASP is just as powerfull as PHP, it's not as common mainly because the software needed to run ASP is not free. As bimmercenter mentioned, it's backed by a major corperation (Microsoft) therefore commercial sites tend to use it more.

Ive actually seen commercial sites using PHP. And some mask it. For example.. My uncle's file extensions say .asp But they are really PHP programming, And he uses the htacsess folder to tell the webserver that it is really a .PHP file. Therefore he fools many people like myself..

Huh? To support the application - e.g. when a user complains about something... etc, etc, etc? All major customers sign up for support - whether they need it or not is another issue - it's policy...
