I'm facinated to know how and what web designers do to get their website known and respected.
What aspects of the design really work? Who is the most successful targeted group and what are some personal tricks people do to become well known (or get a lot of traffic) on the web.
Most people who find a site for the first time will do so through a search engine, so to make your site popular, you need to get it ranked high in search engines.
You do this by making the SE's think your site is popular, by getting other sites (the more popular the better) to link to yours...

But, you also need to have an attractive, simple design to make the users want to stay at your site and to return.
I think that content is the key to a succesful site. If youve got a good amount of content which people would be interested in then as soon as you get a reasonable flow of traffic to it your all set
