Only 3 members away from 1000 :) woohoo

Well its taken a while to get to this point. This site has had its ups and its downs... seems to be having a down at the moment though :(

But to fix that heres my plans:

Firstly Ive got Python Designs to get sorted out. I also need to do a bunch of promotion work for it. After that I will start concentrating on this site. Perhaps do something with the forums skin and maybe pay for people to write tutorials and articles... or something along those lines...

Anyway...

Thanks to everyone who has helped this site reach the 1000 mark, even though its 3 members away :)

    Well done Python for having a community of this type which isn't backed by some big network like OSTG (Open Source Technology Group, they own Sourceforge.net, Freshmeat and thinkgeek) or About.com (whatever.about.com info sites).
    A lot of the communities like this which I have visited have either slowed to nothing, or have died off completely (css-talk, as Felix knows, imploded, PHPwned got sold and never came back, replicant networks is virtually dead and Teencoderz.com's members are off doing their own thing most of the time...).
    PHP, CSS, XHTML, Delphi, Ruby on Rails & more.
    Current project: CMS Object.
    Most recent change: Theme support is up and running... So long as I use my theme resource loaders instead of that in the Rails plug-in.
    Release date: NEVER!!!

    Unfortunately this forum is fairly unactive at the moment. It gets a decent amount of member registration but they rarely post if ever.

    I need to start up some schemes or something to get this forum more active. Ive considered paying people to post which I might implement in the near future.

    We seem to have the members, we just need to get them to post.
    Get good products in the shop (hosting and domains) and get the points system set up nicely.
    Then send a mass email to EVERYONE forum member telling them how amazing the forum is and that now they can earn amazing stuff (domains and hosting) just by posting...

    Ive had to disable the points system at the moment because its not compatible with with vBulletin 3.5 which is what Im running now.

    Ideally before I go ahead and start adding more mods I need to sort out this skin...

    I could of course revert back to the default skin and make some changes for now until I get another skin sorted out...

    What do you think?

    Talking about forum activity.... On the forum index on the Whos Online Bit it says how many active members there are. This is basically the number of members who have logged in within the last 30 days.
