I was sorting through consoles and software earlier and I found an old manual for Deluxe Paint II that I had for an Amiga 500. Anyway it got me to thinking back to my routs of when I started using computers to create art/designs and what different programs I have used along the way.
I have used Paint Shop Pro since version 5 till the most recent PSP X and this was my preference until earlier this year when I was given Photoshop CS 2 as a present. I now only open PSP to convert from .psp* to .psd. I mostly used these programs for creating flyers for my scooter club and signature tags. I've also started using Bryce, Poser and Vue recently.
In the time between Deluxe Paint II and Photoshop CS 2 I have used:-
Deluxe Paint III
Paint Shop Pro 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and X
Photoshop 7
Photo Impact 7
Fireworks 4
Xara 3D
Freehand (can't remember version).
I'm interested in finding out where everyone started out with graphic creating, programs you've all used and what they're primarily used for etc and show off some of your work???
This is some of the work I've done

Layouts designed in PS can be seen
here,
here and
here. Unfortunately the coding I threw together in a hurry and isn't compatible with all browsers.
Looking forward to reading everyone's preferences
possibly seeing creations?

I never actually rush graphics, before I started using Bryce & Poser I'd use art/graphics supplied with permission or under license from artists and take into PSP or PS. Fiddle about and see what I end up with

You said something interesting on one of your posts. At one point Graphic desin had become boring and dry for a little while. I know that feeling because jobs I do become the same way sometimes.
Not to take this thread offtrack again (please feel free to answer her real questions and ignore my musings) but when it became boring, what helped you to make it fresh and fun again?
Whether it was software, plugins, artwork or addons like masks etc I also have a really good friend/muse that inspires me on a daily basis
