ccTLD value

Hi,

I think many domainers have missed the point with ccTLD's. Of the 248 or so ccTLD's less than 100 of them can 'legally' be registered by people from anywhere in the world. Of these some are so tremendously expensive (over $1,000 p.a.) that they seem to have priced themselves out of the market. Yet when you examine the situation closely, well perhaps..............

Some ccTLD's can make very simple good investments. Obviously domainers know about such things as poker.xx, casino.xx, hotel.xx, travel.xx, etc, but there are other ways that these suffixes can be used. One such way is 'inclusive domain names', this is where the suffix forms an integral part of the domain name, examples are Hor.se, Li.st, WeddingRin.gs, etc. Another i'inclusive method is where the domain suffix is used as an abbreviation and part of the domain name, e.g. Ceder.St (Ceder Street) or Texas.St (Texas State).

Above are just a few examples of what is becoming increasingly popular as the advertising industry realizes the power of the internet and how important recognition is in product marketing.
