New Idea, I need your opinions

I currently have a project in development. One of the many features is the ability to have a user page, similar to MySpace, but easier to customize, faster loading, and a selection of already created designs.

To create a little hype and get an original userbase I was thinking of offering an exclusive design for their profiles to members that made 500 posts on the forum by the time the rest of the site was launched.

Do you think this could work?
Where could I promote this?
Is 500 posts too much? Too little?

500 seems alot, however it all depends on time limits to make those 500?

I'm assuming its going to be at least a month. But we'd give everyone at least a 2 weeks notice.

to me, 500 is definitely too much... but that's just me...

to me, 100 sounds reasonable...

But I feel 100 is too little. Its only like 3 posts/day if spread across a month.

I think this could work but, I think 500 is too many posts. Maybe 100 should be the max requirement and 50 would be even better.

Make the goal more attainable and you'll have a lot more takers.
Just lesson the prize they get when they hit 50 or 100 posts, maybe just design part of it for them.
