Hi there. This is my first post on here
.
What I want to do is open an image, click a point (or a lot of points) and have a program save the X and Y coordinates of the point to a .txt file. I need to be able to trace around a design (using endpoints for line segments) and save each endpoint's coordinate. I'll then save two distinctive reference points, and then using those I should be able to open the new file as a pattern in this drilling software I have (from New Wave if you know 'em). I know that once the data are in the file my program will open it. I just don't know how to get it to that file.
Any ideas you guys have for what program to use, how to do it, or suggestions for writing my own program (although there must be something that can do this) I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
