ASP and MySql

I know that mainly ASP uses access databases to store info but can it also be used with MySQL databases? I mean is there some sort fo way that ASP can just query a MySQL database in the same way that PHP does?

P, ASP can be used to put data into any database that is not proprietary. And you can be sure that MySQL is not proprietary.

I've (well not me but my guys) used it with enterprise class databases like Oracle, DB2 and SQLServer.

Non-proprietary's getting more difficult to define nowadays. I'd suggest to say that non-proprietary = any database that is ODBC-compliant? Just about any database is nowadays actually.

I found that link, it looks useful. Although I would really look into asp.net for any new development. Its alot more powerful.

I'm using mysqlodbc distributed directly by www.mysql.com and it's working great on my production sites.

just getting into asp check it out free microsoft beta web design studio that use j+ or c+ and uses asp doesnt work completly cause its beta but i diont see any others (msdn is the place "visual studio beta")
