Invision Power Board or vBulletin?

I've been using PHPBB for years and now I think it's time I moved to another forum software, the question is.. What do you's think would be better for my forums? It's a web design and webmaster forum but I'm kind of stuck choosing between IPB and vBulletin, some help would be appreciated in choosing :P Thanks guys

I'm used to Invision, however vBullitin should be more secure. Modding and Managing is a little easier at Invision though (I still mod at a IPB board)...

I use both to be honest. With my new GPT site I'm using IPB, but really I just decide when it's time to buy a license, I like them both truthfully.

IPB=Hackers fun area. IPB is now one of the easiest paid bulletin boards to hack. I would recommend vBulletin, it is easy to use and get to know how to use, Great Support on vBulletin.com, Almost 100% hacker safe, Many many skins, and very easy to customize. I personally use SMF(Simple Machine Forums). I like it because it has very good security, many many themes to get(Including the themes I develop for it to make it look like vBulletin), many many mods for it such as a Shop and Arcade mod, and it is completely free!.

I have one vBulletin license. I used it before alot but now i don't use it anymore. Though I am thinking of selling it to someone. And I think it is one of the powerful forum software. It has has more tons of facilities than anyother includes phpbb or smf.

I really think vbulletin is the way to go, for many reasons.

vB is more secure...but I just love IPB's mods...it's what your willing to risk I guess (me? IPB )

Well vBulletin has way more features and is really taking the net by storm with it's uniqueness and cool new themes and ideas.
IPB is pretty cool when it comes to just having a site that you like to customize to your likings with code, etc. I never actually messed aaround with vBulletin forums like I have with IPB so I'll have to ssay IPB is better.

IPB was a good choice modding and designing is a lot easier on IPB. VB is more established and therefore secure but it's harder to mod VB and costs a lot to hire someone with the know how.

I chose IPB but I am yet to learn how to design a theme and code for it. Thanks for all the replies guys.

IPB definately offers better mods, but admittedly security isn't anywhere near as good as vB. However, a reliable forum owner will be taking backups every 2-3 days, and even more on a large forum (once or twice daily!). I think there is actually a way to automatically save backups at set times, say once every 48 hours.

As a user of PHPbb2 for a long time...IPB would be your best bet...I used to use both of them...but now its yabbers...check them out... www.yabbers.com
