Do you have a favourite genre related to art/design? You do? Well that's great but what is it and can you show an example?

Yup, I love the geometric and mathematically inspired modern art style epitmoized by M.C. Escher. He was a Dutch artist who's work featured impossible constructions, explorations of infinity, and tessellations.

I bet everyone has at least seen his Hand with Reflecting Sphere (Self-Portrait in Spherical Mirror). One of my favorites by him is his Waterfall. He was away ahead of his time.

One of my new favorite artists is Irvine Peac-ock who follows in Escher's footsteps and uses more color. Peac-ock's Castle of Illusion is my favorite of his. It is one of the works haning on my wall at home.
