Guys!
If we install windows 98/me over windows 2000, XP, or other NT based OS, then Boot loader is overwritten and we can't boot in our XP but can boot only in newly installed 98 or Me.
So we always suggested that first install 98/Me then install Xp or other NT based OS.
But sometimes we need to install 9x over Xp.
In that condition I hv a trick (my own trick), by which u can overcome this problem and the Boot loader will not be overwritten.
Here we go:
1.) First d/l this free DOS version from following link:
MS-DOS 7.10
It contains both floppy and CD setup.
2.) Now Just install this DOS. It'll automatically add an entry for it in the XP boot loader. So boot loader will not be overwritten.
3.) Now u hv to do only is to install win 98 using bootable CD. Everything will be allright. Cauz after installing DOS and then windows 98, the XP boot loader will be not overwritten and u can boot in both OS (98 and XP) without ne problem...
So the conclusion is that, u hv to do only this:
1.) First Install DOS then
2.) Install windows 98
Thats it...
