Signature Links

Ive always clicked on links in forum signatures but have never thought to advertise in them myself. Ive been doing it now for a while and have noticed an increase in signups and new members for my forum.

Signature links are a great way to get advertising especially when you post a lot. When I am really active i get an extra 20+ uniques a month and about 5 sign ups a week. Really helps when you don't have the money.

Its funny actually, because just today, a forum I moderate on was wondering how we could encourage new people to visit and possibly join, and I mentioned to them what I read in this thread. Heres hoping that our team on that site implement it, as I know a lot of them are regular forum users

Signature links are definately a good way of driving small amounts of traffic to your site(s). I seem to find that the more well known, and respected you are on a forum, the more inclined people will be to click your advertisement within your signature.

On some forums people who post new threads will not have their forum signature up. Or maybe she has to post a certain amount for it to show up. I think mine showed up after 5 posts
