you will NEVER see or know the algorhthm as this is what is used to put your sites in an order and if they let people know it, it would get abused so people get their sites to be number 1
It's amazing how Google can get their staff to keep their mouths shut about their precious algo. Wouldn't at least one or two of them (especially those that are no longer at Google) blow the algo?

NO, they would a) Most likely not know it anyway - It's the PHD's that would know that kind of thing.
b) Even if they did know, they would have to sign a confidentially agreement
c) What would you do even if you did see it. The algo isn't a 1-line code. It's MASSIVE (Well I assume it would be). You wouldn't just be able to say - Ahhhh, so that's why I'm not #1

Nah, seriously, they will have signed a contract when they joined.
It's the same with lots of companies.
My brother works for BCB who sell anything from binoculars to body armour to guns. Basically, if they went out of business there would be world peace. But my bro has to sing a contract wheich means he can't tell anyone about any of the products BCB develop untill 2 years have passed... lol
NDAs only work to a certain extent. I have to sign an NDA for every single project that I get on and I've been at it for 9 years now. Things still leak out. It's too difficult to enforce.
However, I'd agree with what SEBasic posted earlier - the size of the algo is probably too big for most people in Google to understand at a macro level.

An Algorithm is basically a mathimatical equasion used by (you at least hear the most about it when talking about) Google which allows it to rank you.
