Kemp Adds Network Telemetry to Its Load Balancer
Kemp has announced that it is going to create a combination application experience (ax) with network performance monitoring and diagnostic (NPMD) capabilities of its Flowmon product line with the LoadMaster load balancer. The Kemp load balancers consist of native flow-export capabilities, taking advantage of the common protocols such as NetFlow IPFIX. These protocols would lead to perfect transparency to the performance and status of the network.
Network knowledge has emerged as one of the most important aspects for a healthy, secure, and well-performing application environment with the growth in today’s application infrastructure that is shaped with the help of cloud, edge computing, and network knowledge.
Users can exactly mark the root cause of issues encountered by them and can easily determine whether they are caused due to the network or the application via Network Telemetry statistic and added visualization offered by Kemp Flowmon Collector. In this way, deep and actionable outages detect issues in their beginning stages so that they can be stopped before any major outage or escalation.
CTO at SEGA, Masahiro Sato, said that they have been provided with network visibility now which was missing previously. He further added that now they can easily identify the causes of network issues in an easier way as compared to the old process. He concluded by saying that the solution also allows them to design the proper capacity of the network.
Jason Dover, VP of product strategy at Kemp said that by integrating the two complementary technologies, the customers of Kemp have the best possible chance to deliver an always-on application experience for their users. After that, he said load balancing serves as an important piece of infrastructure to optimize the application experience. The extension of visibility in network traffic may provide a boost to IT professionals with proactive bandwidth monitoring and deep application performance analysis across the entire application delivery chain.

The addition of the Flowman NetFlow/IPFIX Exporter to LoadMaster load balancers as a standard component is at the heart of enhanced network telemetry. This allows Kemp to keep telemetry data regarding all the network traffic that goes via the LoadMaster and then export it to Kemp Flowmon Collector for proper analysis and visualization. By the privileged position of the load balancer and advantage of the network, customers get access to a single definitive source of truth that helps them and makes sure that the business-critical applications are being delivered in an optimized war, irrespective of their residence, i.e., cloud or premises.
Along with the full set NPMD features, the Kemp Flowmon Collector ushers in network detection and response (NDR) for zero-day threat hunting, in-depth application performance monitoring, and packet analysis.
Advantages that users can get while using Network Telemetry with Kemp Flowmon Collector include:
Get access in an entire application value delivery chain to spot misconfigurations, bottlenecks, and potential security issues
Identify the root cause of new network, application, or security issues with one definitive source of application truth
Keep a check on the network usage and monitor experience to speculate and accommodate link saturation, usage spikes, Enhance the ability to respond to customer needs and security issues along with visibility into network performance
