Wix.com, WordPress, Weebly or what is easiest low-cost solution for non-designers?

I was using Wix.com because of the WYSIWYG editor. It's fantastic I have to admit. I'm an artist (music, film, writer) and want a simple site. I'm fine with embedding/linking to my work on vimeo, soundcloud, PDF reader etc. I've designed websites with Dreamweaver in the early 2000s (i.e. before mobile design), Blogger and other CMSs and know html and css. Before Wix I tried Wordpress.com and realized quickly I had NO patience with learning the interface. Was I being too hasty? At this point, I'm not buying a Wix paid account/domain because it's too expensive in the long run with a private domain. My goal is to have a low cost, reliable web presence (I don't use FB, etc) that's not going to need much attention once it's up. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Have you tried https://www.brizy.cloud/?

You can download the content you have created and upload to somewhere like Netlify? (I can help you setup the Netlify hosting, it is super easy). Effectively, your cost is just the cost of a domain (you can buy it from anywhere -> look up tld-list.com to get the best prices)

By the way, what is Netlify?

  • I have found Wix to be quite helpful especially if you don't have a strong design background. The user interface is quite intuitive and the templates look super professional.

  • Wix is quite descent but way too expensive for my liking. I'm interested in seeing what the community will suggest on this.
