Really FREE Hosting???

Hi,

Any of you veterans know of REALLY FREE hosting? I mean FREE hosting without any strings attached - e.g. having to post on an associated forum?

I don't mind putting a link back to the host as long as I have a say as to where I think the link should be - some host insists on using their banners which are "ugly" and insists that the banners should be placed somewhere which doesn't fits the site's layout.

PHP and MYSQL would be great. 35-50 MB would be more than sufficient for me.

Is this available? Or am I just wishful...

hostrocket.com is the best ive seen although they have disabled ftp recently

any reason why? a host without ftp would absolutely suck

servers are fast, they are reliable not likely to godown you get mysql php etc decent amount of space and 2gig badwidth

RocketHost? I just checked... it's not free.

RevolutionHost? It gets redirected to JayDesigns which states that hosting is by HostWithUs.org. The link doesn't work.

Anyway, if it's for FREE, I'm for it. How do I sign up? I will willingly put a banner on each page. :shock:

websiteunited.com have offered me 100mb 1gb bandwidth php mysql c panel domain etc etc for about £12 a year although that was an offer to me they may be able to help you out or reduce the price if you have a sub domain instead ofdomain name

Nah, not planning to spend money on either a domain name or hosting...

Thanks for all the offers. I may check out hostrocket tonight - although it's the same as what I'm using now - i.e. mysitespace - no php, no mysql, no pop3 accounts etc.

well i must say that if you made that bmw blog site you have great talent and im sure that python might be able to help you with free hosting once www.pythondesgins.net are up. i wish i could help but i dont offer hosting but change the current domian to something like

www.bmwblog.tk for free

tell you what tell me a name you would like that finishes with .tk i will do it for you for free.

rallyfan, yes i did that website up by myself - hand coding.... you'd notice that you cannot reply or trackback like other blogs cause there are no scripts (e.g. moveable-type). I've been finding out about the free blogging scripts but have not had the time to tinker with them.

i know a few sites where you can get domains for about £3-4 a year
i cant remember them off the top of my head and ive never used them so cant guarentee how good they are although they seem pretty decent, if your interested let me know and ill have a quick look for them

I just checked domainsite out - looks good. I've used namecheap before. always tought that namecheap and godaddy was the cheapest decent registrars around - looks like this one is even cheaper. Also, it looks decent - although looks can certainly be deceiving... 8)
