Google down?

I just heard it on the radio and seen it at another forum...

Apparently google servers crashed.

On radio it said: they are trying to figure out why their servers crashed so suddenly. They think it might have been done purposly by someone.


So has anyone else noticed that google search isnt working? Because its working for me.

i would imagine it only went down for a few minutes cos they would probably have back up after back up with 24/7 technicians there

yeah true. its just that it was on the radio saying it was down for millions of people and when i tried it it worked, lol

Seems it might have been down to some users: http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/internet/07/26/google.down/index.html - I have been updating my AV program like crazy today.

I am getting some stupid e-mail like:

Dear user of mydomain.com, Mail server administrator of mydomain.com would like to let you know that.

Your account has been used to send a large amount of spam during this week.
Most likely your computer had been compromised and now runs a trojan proxy server.

We recommend that you follow instructions in the attachment in order to keep your computer safe.

So of course I am running check after check to make sure everything is OK.

the point i was making was that he actaully took a screenshot and posted it as though its something amazing that happens once in a lifetime...i was pointing out that the guy must have nothing interesting in his life fr him to do that

What happened was that there was a worm/virus called W32.Mydoom.M@mm that has been aggressively circulating the Internet via e-mail. Symantec has issued a "Category 3" alert for the new virus.

My firewall has been complaining non-stop for the past 48 hours even before the announcements.

However, whatever's happened to Google must have been fixed quick since most of us can continue using the search services.
