Anyone has any experience how long it takes for a Google Adsense account to be approved?

I applied for one last week but have not gotten any reply from Google (I did get a verification email). However, I'm surprised that I can log in using the email and password that I specified in my application.

My problem is up till now I only get Public Service Ads although I'm fairly certain that the content in my website is easily targetable.

Any comments will be appreciated.

usually it takes about 3 days to verify your adsense account - well it did with me. public service ads should appear less often after the ads have adjusted to your pages content

Thanks for your comments... anyway, I got a reply from Google comfirming approval and also the ads have been appearing (just).

Hopefully I can starting making some money now.

Still a bit sore about losing my work getting links for my previous free subdomain though.

I've been experimenting to see which kind of placement works best.

The highest CTR I am currently seeing is around 10%.

with that page most of the ads have been faked. only the top one is for real - and yes i know i was stating the obvious

This is the first time I've seen it done that way. If I'm a user, I would click on an Ad if it's relevant (i.e. my interest) - I wouldn't bother if the publisher is getting money for the click or not - so I'm not sure why that guy is taking the trouble to camouflage Google's Ads...

Domestic users would assume that they aren't in fact ads. Also, don't forget that adsense IS on-topic. So the clicks he gets, woul dbe from people clicking something worthwile.

Hmmm... I'm not sure if you understood what I meant...

I would click on a link (don't care if it's an Ad or not) if it's of interest to me. If this is in general true, why bother camouflaging Ads like what that guys is doing?
