increasing PR

PythonPython Forum LeaderThe Royal RAM
How can I increase the PR of this site and forum? I know that it will increase by exchanging links with sites who already have a high PR but is there any other method?

    More content,
    Good Code Structure,
    Small file sizes,
Use of proper <h1> tags etc...
    Perhaps CSS.

There are hundreds of things you can do that will all influence your sites PR and SERP's listings.

But most importantly, good on-topic back links, using thought out anchor text and being displayed on pages that are relevant to your content.

    No FFA stuff.

    I repeat

    No FFA stuff.

This will get you penalised and possibly kicked of the google SERP's alltogether.

BTW, no java or redirect links as google doesn't recognise them.

BTW, These things are required to get you listed in the SERP's.

They all influence how well your site will perform in the SE's.

PR is tricky. It's all good having lot's of backlinks and a huge PR, but if the site isn't built properally, then it will flop.

Sorry, I should have made myself more clear.

Yeah, most free servers actually stop the Spiders from crawling your site. A few don't but I can't remember who they were.

why would the free servers do that? wouldnt their service be made more well known?
  • PythonPython Forum Leader The Royal RAM
yeah that would be stupid to stop the serach engines spidering their sites

    I don't know why either.

All I know, is they do. Geocities, Tripod are all guilty.

when way the last time you saw a free hosted site in the SE's?

    Yep.

Free hosts are a complete waste of time.

well their real good if you dont plan to actually get any large amount of traffic. i learnt most of my web skills on free hosts so theyve actually helped me out.

Oh yeah. Of course, they can be helpful, but if you wan't to actually make money out of your site, you really need a proper host

yeah. very true. but there are some sites out there who are being hosted on freehosts which do actually get a fair bit of traffic. theres not many but they probably get their traffic from links from other sites instead of search engines.

Yeah. There will always be exceptions, but 99% of free hosts actually STOP spiders from visiting your site.
