Freelance prices

Im interested in doing some webdesign projects to earn a little money and to learn new skills however im nto sure how much I should charge?

What would you recommend? Im thinking of splitting projects into 3 sections. Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.

Basic would be just a few basic pages, simple graphic nothing too special.

Intermediate would be a bit more complex

Then Advanced would be every thing I know.


Any ideas on what I should charge?

i know someone that charges £25 an hour
but hes VERY good.

If i was you just for learning and while your a student id charge about £5 an hour, or if your doing a set job, estimate how may hours it will take then charge a set fee.

Yeah... maybe £5 an hour... but most people will want to agree on how long you think it will take before hand... so you dont spend hours playing games and charge them for that time...
Maybe less if its just basic HTML or more if its PHP and CSS....

well from what ive heard the average hourly rate for any work no matter how difficult it is is $8 which is in fact about £5

I might lower it a bit though considering Im only really in it for the skills and experience.

Some sample work would help me estimate what I would pay personaly. That might help.

Freelance work? Too many freelance sites - the rates there are unbelieveable. Just take a look a rentacoder.com.

yes i know and i would charge much less than they do on that site.
