whats the best way to get more people?
i opened up a forum today pretty much along the lines of this 1...infact my site in general is similar to this except mineis just a place to put my work and possibly earn a little bit from it...anyway my forum was put up today i was wondering what is the best way to get people for free, or as cheap as possible?

any other ways? ive tried on a few boards/sites seing if theyd like to do a banner exchange but no look yet

Offer a free text link for sign-ups and then for anyone who posts 50 posts in a month... (to keep people coming back)

I do have plans for mods its just i want to get the sites new design sorted out first.

yeah any forum that seems dull when they visit wont be bookmarked.

An obvious way to get a forum going is to post loads of new threads yourself. Try and post a minimum of say 10 new threads each day for two monts. Then people will have topics to reply to and lots of them

I don't think posting threads yourself - especially in a ghost site is good. It makes the site look desperate. But then again, it's better than no one posting at all

Maybe you could cheat and register yourself as a different user and post and reply to your ownself
