Can anyone tell me why Flash is taking control of the web? It takes forever to load, it is no better than any other way of doing things, and it doesnt look good when an entire site is done in flash.
I was recently rejected to do a site because I didn't know flash, when I could do a site equal in quality as a flash site is. I do not understand what the importance of flash is, besides it making easy moving images (which is already possible in NON flash sites).
So can someone please explain to me the overwhelming positive side to a flash site that no other site can compare to?

In fact I'd say Flash's popularity is fast going up. Maybe not as a replacement of html - remember that it it's more of a presentation/movie/animation tool.
but it is not logical to use flash in some instances (i.e. information driven) and it works very well in other instances (i.e. graphicly driven).

Now I'm not for the total use of flash, in fact I've even discouraged some our small business clients from using it. From an SEO and ease of use standpoint, a regular HTML site is best. Plus it is usually cheaper for our clients with a smaller budget since flash can be time consuming. Just my opinion.
