It's basically a CMS but most people put their daily thoughts/ramblings into it rather than real articles...
Btw, I've got 2 blogs - the one in my sig is hand coded, the other one is based on Wordpress. Wordpress is good - 2 sites that are indispensible are http://www.wordpress.org and http://www.alexking.org. Check them out...
