3D Text in Photoshop 7

3D Text in Adobe PhotoShop 7

Photoshop is the daddy of all pro graphics packages.
Learn how to make awesome 3D text in minute!

Firstly, open Photoshop. This tutorial is based on version 7, but I expect it will be pretty much the same in CS.
Now, just follow the simple steps:

1. Use the text tool to type some text. Make sure its different to the background colour so you can see it.
Like this:

2. Select the layer the text is on, not the text itself. Then go to Layer > Layer Style > Bevel and Emboss...

3. Set the Style as Inner Bevel and the Technique as Smooth.
Try the depth at 150% and the direction is probably best as Up.
Size will be about 2-5 pixels and Soften maybe 3-7
The angle is probably best at about 130º. And the Altitude at say 30.
You may want to select the Contour box on the left under Bevel and Emboss.

And your done.

The depth, direction, size, soften, angel and altitude can all be changed to suit you.

Have fun.
