should be interresting though how many patches do you reckon you gonna have to download this time, i got the automatic update showing me new downloads again today
im tempted to switch to linux but not sure if dreamweaver, photoshop, psp and allth eother programs i use wil work

yeah i downloaded some win xp patches earlier on today. hopefully but unlikely longhorn wont have so many bugs which need patches to fix them

Longhorn is basically the same as the Win3.1 -> Win95 jump. Like, new kernel etc. I downlaoded the alpha copy and it's nothing great.

I use WinXP and every once in the while, Slackware. Though I'm thinking of buying a Mac too. After watching this, I've got a craving. I'm saving up for a G5.

Look here, number one heading - "Get files off your PC"

Basically, you can copy over files as if you were copying files between two PC's. That link describes burning data CD's, but (see here) you can just hook your comptuers up on a network, you'd be able to copy over your PC files.

I didn't find that video having anything too spectacular, but then again I got bored in the middle of that excrutiatingly long video part with the music playing with the rapping guy and all the features and stuff showing.

It's cool in the commercial when the people are all dancing in the advertising on the wall then the guy stops and they all stop but they start when he pushes play again.

As long as you have Word for your Mac theres no problems at all...
Same with pretty much everything else...
A Mac word document is the same as a PC word document.
A Mac photoshop document is the same as a PC photoshop document.
A Mac Dreamweaver document is the same as a PC Dreamweaver document. And so on. lol...

there is no edit button because there is something wrong with the code and no one even at the phpbb forums know what it is. i might try to reupload some of the forum files and narrow it down until i find the problem

I think what bugs (no pun intended) people the most is, that Microsoft's major product is Windows and it's just so damn shitty. If they actually made a good, solid, stable product, I don't think people would hate them so much.

i was thinking about it and the only upside to a mac is the hardware the OS isnt really special its pretty much linux just prettier

I wouldn't say that. It's based of Unix, yes, but they've been building their own OS since their first computer.

That's like saying Windows and Linux are the same because they both have kernels.

i use linux fedora core 2 as one person stated above about dreamwever and photo shop and other things not working on it well linux has Quanta <<web building program
The GIMP <<same thing as photo shop plus its free and is very nice
i have been using it for about 2 years

go there download the file and burn it on a cd and put it in and boot off it theres a free bootable version of some linux it doesnt have all the fetures though

Free is never as good as paid. Note the fact that phpBB is the worse of the 3 main online forums; it's free and they get no money. IPB is in the middle, because they do get money (from stuff like hosting) while it's still free; they could make more. vBulliten is paid and it's the best.
